Hi, my name is Yawwalak Kaalakeet. I am a Thai language teacher, for almost 4 decades. I teach foreigners Thai language.
Over the past 30 years I began to nurture a love for art and painting, and looked for every opportunity to develop and share my talents in this field.
My collection is over 300 paintings. I began with water colors, have gone to oil and more recently acrylic.
Where did I gain my knowledge of art?
In my early years, I studied art in school. My technique and love for art grew over the years, and I am grateful for these skills that I feel come from above.
My more advanced art studies include lessons at Alliance Française, private lessons in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, als well as support from artistic friends whose knowledge has been of enormous benefit.
Themes I have worked on include philosophy and religion. My first 27 paintings concentrated on the Lord Buddha’s Dharma, to worship his teachings and the ways to a simple life.
Today’s artwork are all based on self-expression. I express my work through my feelings and emotions, with forms and colors on canvas using acrylic.
I hope the paintings on exhibition reflect my moments of inspiration that will provide the viewer with positive energy and spiritual upliftment.
