The best time of the year to stay in Baan Phaassaa Thai is from the end of October until the end of February. December is the loveliest month of the year, with lots of holidays: the last king’s birthday on 5 December is a national holiday, and of course New Year.
The last week of the year is also one of the nicest periods to visit Isaan: everything is fresh and green. The weathers is great, for us it’s winter. For you, a moderately warm (or cool) summer. Expect the temperature to hover between 20-30 C (68-86 F). We take it easy at the end of the year, and you can join in.
No fixed program. Just relax. Let your mind rest.
What can we do? Take a bicycle, and tour the area.
We’ll go to a shop for basket weaving. Not a tourist attraction, we use this in our daily life.
I’ll teach you how to cook sticky rice (ข้าวเหนียว – khao niaoh). In Thailand most people eat dry or fried rice, but in Isaan we prefer glutinous rice. It’s not difficult to make, once you know how to do it.
